Fatigue and Fracture Control

Our in-house tools maximize efficiency and minimize effort, e.g. for temperature mapping.

SPS uses the finite element method (FEM) to describe the behaviour of a structure from the early conceptual phase to final dimensioning in addition to analytical methods. Many years of experience with the finite element method (FEM) range from linear static analyses to complex dynamic analyses. Our standard tools are listed below. Other in-house tools maximize efficiency and minimize effort, e.g. for temperature mapping.

Our offer includes:

Our thermal design and modeling with analysis includes several different activities

Thermal control of space products is an extreme challenge. Our experience helps to find a thermal design that works. Thermal Analysis includes thermal modelling (GMM/TMM) and analysis, steady state and transient, reduced models, all possible orbits and spacecraft configurations.

Consideration of all relevant boundary conditions (radiative, conductive). Consideration of thermo-optical properties (BOL, EOL). Steady state heat flow analysis. Radiators and Heatpipes as well as Single- or Multi-Layer-Insulation (SLI/MLI) are in our offer. You can also chose Thermal interface filler or Surface coatings (OSR, black/white paint, etc.).

Typically included activities:
  • Definition of appropriate sensor systems
  • Design and sizing of test adapters, test dummies and support structures
  • Procurement and coordination of test facilities
  • Development of test procedures
  • On-site test lead engineering
  • Evaluation of test data
  • Test documentation
  • Model correlation with test data
